Reiki Principles

Just for today, I will not be angry

Just for today, I will not worry.

Just for today, I will be grateful

Just for today, I will do my work honestly.

Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing

Reiki is a popular modality in the horse and human world and is realized as a vital element in the health and wholeness of life. When we are well, energy flows through the body like an electrical current. Energy blocks occur in this current that are due to pressures from outside factors like emotional trauma, infections, injury, diet changes, or possible training issues for horses. If left untreated, this can lead to energy depletion in a particular area causing other areas to overcompensate. Energy blocks lead to behavioral and psychological issues as well as the physical. Reiki allows positive energy to flow into the body and dissipate imbalances restoring them to their natural balance. Outwardly, it is very subtle in its application. Inwardly it is felt intensely but is painless. Reiki calms the mind while also clearing any physical energy blocks allowing for clarity, focus and concentration.

Reiki treatments can help you and your horse on so many different levels: Anxiety, Depression, Settling into a new environment, Calming for transit, Recovery from cruel treatment, Accelerate rehabilitation period from injury or illness, Suppleness and Flexibility, Pre-show jitters…And much much more.

A Reiki practitioner is attuned to the Reiki symbols by attending a Reiki I, II and/or III class. Once attuned with the symbols and trained in how to apply them. The Reiki practitioner will scan the body with their hands for energy depletions or blockages. With the intention of assisting the energy to release or restore to balance, they will then allow the Reiki to flow to that area. Reiki is non-harming and should not be forced. It should only be given if permission has been granted by the guardian and the animal.
